I went window-shopping 2 Mondays ago and was looking at Revlon’s counter at Metro in Compass Point. Mostly the same nail polish colours as your usual pharmacies and personal stores, but this bright red-stickered bottle stuck out, and it said “Scented”. It’s part of the scented range from last year’s Spring/ Summer that had many YouTubers raving about (mainly for Gum Drop).

Well, this particular one is Peach Smoothie. It was not quite the scented novelty that drove me to buy it, but the colour; peachy nude with subtle gold-bronzy specks. Love! I have not seen this sort of colour by other nail polish brands, so I parted with SGD 12.90. And that’s much more than what I normally pay for an OPI or Essie.

So today, I decided to try it on, and also stamp on Konad’s lace image in white over it to get a vintage lace look. But the Konad part was a major FAIL! I had to go over the failed stamp art with one more coat, and China Glaze Fairy Dust (my go-to cover-up trick). Here’s the line-up of products used:

Although it contains Toulene, I’m still loving Seche Vite. And here’s my NOTD:

And what I’m loving the most now is the scent! Even after applying Fairy Dust and Seche Vite over it, I can still get a good whiff of Peach Smoothie when I sniff my nails. It’s kinda like peach flavoured jelly beans, the ones from Candy Empire… if you know what I’m talking about. Mmm…delectable!

It applied rather streaky and a tad bit sheer on the first coat, but it was good to go with the second coat. So all’s good as I never liked going beyond 2 coats. I’m bent on using it again, but just plain (or maybe I might attempt Konad-ing again).

I also bought Gum Drop on a whim last Saturday. I don’t know if I’ll regret it since I already have 2 other polishes in that exact colour; China Glaze Light As Air, and butter LONDON Muggins. Oh, and that bottle of Gum Drop I picked up was the only one on the shelf, and I have not seen it elsewhere in other stores too. Best part: I only paid SGD 0.90! Ok, so I redeemed the points in my Watsons membership card to offset SGD 8.00, but I think it was cool deal.

(The printed nails were a @cutepolish-inspired nail art from last week).

I’m left with using my mobile phone to shoot all my photos since last week. My camera’s lens decided to play punk on me so it’s been sent for servicing. Gotta bear with the mediocre photo quality for a bit.

Off to bed now. Night peeps! Post Signature
